Journalists further report that on Monaday, Shettima invited Mustapha to the Government House, Maiduguri, after he heard his appeal on the radio station.
Shettima told Mustapha that he heard his appeal and had granted an executive approval for him to be employed by Borno Ministry for Higher Education.
‘‘Honestly, we are really touched by your story. You said you are a graduate of History at the Gombe State University.
‘‘Honestly, I really respect you for your effort and I can assure you that we will give you all the support you deserve.
‘‘You really deserve our support; personally I want you to teach in a senior secondary school or even in the school for the blind.
‘‘After we employ you, we will also give you scholarship where you can go and further your education,’’ Shettima said.
In his reaction, Mustapha, who thanked the governor, said that he would also love to teach so that he could impact knowledge in the young ones. He also added that he would love to further his education to become a professor.
‘‘I am a graduate of History from the Gombe State University and I am aspiring to become the first blind professor in Nigeria,’’ he said.
Muhammad told newsmen in an interview that he graduated with Second Class Lower Degree and hoped to get married after taking up the employment.
‘‘I live in Shehuri North area of Maiduguri; I want to get married and have children to call my own, may be this year. But you know I have to settle with my job and save some money,’’ he said.
Find out why you need to stop putting toilet paper under or over the toilet seat immediately! You have a really wrong idea about it!
Many people are afraid of public restrooms. Some get nervous by being aware that they are using the bathroom that someone else has used, while others have simply seen too many disasters how to rely on them. It’s like throwing dice every time you use a public restroom. Who knows what you’ll find behind those doors? If you can close them … Overflow toilets, dirty seats, even dirtier floors – the scene is never pretty. However, when nature calls, public restrooms are our only option.
So what do you do when you really, really need to use a public restroom? Put one of those seat covers? But what if you do not have any? Do you build a toilet paper barrier instead? If the answer is yes, you need to stop doing that. Toilet paper under or over the toilet seat is not the solution.
People assume that bathrooms are full of bacteria, but the current seats are not designed to collect anything. Its deliberate curve and smooth surface prevent bacteria from sticking around, making them safer to sit on. Germs cannot multiply on bare skin by themselves, so do not expect to get sick after sitting in a dry public toilet. Where are the real germs in public toilets? On the toilet paper.
Why not putting toilet paper under or over the toilet seat?
Unlike toilet seats, nothing in a toilet is designed to prevent bacteria from adhering to it. The germs spread all over the place when you pull the chain. They stick to the walls, the doorknob, the toilet paper dispenser, and, of course, the toilet paper itself. Unfortunately, the surface of the toilet paper is perfect for picking up the bacteria. Germs lye directly on paper – and tend to enter our bodies, often when used to blow our noses or clean our faces. In doing so, we make it very easy for these nasty germs to enter our bodies.
In fact, almost every surface of a public toilet is oozing with bacteria, including the sink and hand dryers. According to a study published in the Journal of Applied Microbiology, apart from toilets, electric hand dryers are largely responsible for distributing large amounts of bacteria around the toilet.
The problem with electric hand dryers is the flow of air. In addition to removing water from the hands, it also expels bacteria and viral particles into the air. This causes them to circulate throughout the room, polluting almost everything in sight. Although the air coming out of the hand dryer may be clean, certain hand dryers accumulate small pools of water with bacteria from the water that drip from the hands of the user. Not to mention, that many of us are too impatient to wait for our hands to be completely dry, and we leave with wet and dripping hands – which generates a greater spread of bacteria. While it may be cheaper for a company to invest in an electric hand dryer, paper towels are actually more beneficial to everyone’s health.
What to do?
So, what should you do if you have to use a public restroom? For one thing, do not build a toilet paper barrier. And second, close the toilet lid before the water dump to prevent the germs from flying around. Also, consider bringing your own baby wipes or hand sanitizer with you. These little things can help you avoid catching harmful bacteria.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) says about 65,000 of its members in Katsina State, have begun seven-day fasting and prayers for the quick recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Rev. Nelson Onyeka Chukwu, CAN Chairman in the state, who disclosed this to journalists on Monday in Katsina, said that the prayers would be offered at Mountain of Fire Church at Kofar-Kaura, Katsina and in six other Churches.
Chukwu listed the other Churches as Church of God Mission, Calvary Baptist, ECWA, St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, and C&S, Dutsin-ma road, all in Katsina. He further said that that the prayers would be concluded next Sunday at St. John’s Anglican Church, Katsina.
Chukwu said that the decision was in recognition of the good works the President started for the country. ‘’We are praying for our President’s quick
Tooth decay is produced when foods pack with carbohydrates- the sugar and starches- are left within the mouth. Bacteria remain in our mouth survive and grow on these food particles and produce acids. It doesn’t take longer for these acids to destroy the tooth enamel which in turn leads to cavities and tooth decay.
Cavities occur when several types of bacteria produce acid that damages tooth enamel, as well as the basic layer, dentin. Many people believe that when caries occurs, it is impossible to remove, but the truth is that there are several ways to naturally remove it.
If you want healthy teeth without cavities, sugar cannot be part of your diet. It keeps oral bacteria that prevent the flow of healthy dental liquids.
Eat healthy foods
Meals full of vegetables – especially leafy green vegetables, and foods rich in healthy fats, such as coconut oil and avocado, along with nuts and seeds can help create the perfect diet to fight cavities.
Remove the phytic acid
Phytic acid is a mineral of the blocker and the enzyme inhibitor contained in the grains, nuts, beans and seeds, which are not organically. This can lead to serious health problems, such as lack of minerals and osteoporosis. Phytic acid inhibits the absorption of minerals in the food. Avoid foods with high doses of phytic acid by choosing organic food.
Use mineralized toothpaste
Toothpaste without fluoride can be expensive, but there are some brands that are more affordable than others.
You can also make your own toothpaste at home by using:
3 tablespoons diatomaceous clay
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon of chlorophyll with mint-flavored
1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract
1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil
1 tablespoon filtered water
Your pee frequency can reveal a lot about your systematic health.
How your bladder functions every day can tell you a lot about your overall health. How often you urinate during the day and during the night, the color of your urine and whether you can “hold it” all provide clues to health conditions that don’t involve your urinary system. How often should one pee?
Generally, there is no definite number of times for peeing. However, people usually urinate between six and eight times a day. Also, there are a number of factors which have an impact on urination frequency such as hydration and how you hydrate yourself.
For example, people who drink more water, will normally pee more often. Also, those who consume alcohol, coffee and other foods and drinks which act like bladder irritants will urinate more frequently.
Furthermore, there are people with sensitive bladders who run to the bathroom as soon as they feel the slightest urge. Also, there are those who are able to hold their pee until their bladders are about to burst.
Can we urinate too often?
People who urinate 11 times a day, or more, after drinking two liters of fluid may possibly have a problem with pee frequency. Often, frequent peeing can occur as a result of overactive bladder which causes the urge to urinate a lot. However, Dr. Grafstein says that we are able to train our bladder, but only if we don`t have incontinence problems.
Other Urine related Facts
Holding the pee is not bad, unless it starts causing pain.
Regularly holding of your pee can lead to bladder infections.
The normal color of the urine is see-through yellow.
Particular foods can change the color of your pee (blackberries can change it to pink).
Asparagus can cause your urine to be foul-smelling.
Pee is 95% water.
Sweet-smelling urine is a sign of diabetes.
The average stream of urine is about seven seconds.
Your urine stream becomes weaker as you grow older.
You also urinate more as you age.
Avoid drinking fluids before going to bed to prevent sleep disruption from the urge to urinate.
Sleeping is one of the most important things we do every night. Getting the right number of sleep has an untold amount of health benefits and not getting enough sleep is a serious difficulty in many countries around the world.
Did you know that you can get additional benefits by sleeping naked? Here are some benefits of sleeping in the nude:
When you don’t have to worry about sleeping in clothes, things start to get easier. You don’t have to buy pajamas, which can save you money. You have less clothes to wash and less clothes to put away. You may have to clean your bed sheets more often, but not nearly as often as you’d have to wash your pajamas when you run out.
2. It forces you to be ready to go more often.
Some people get off of work, change into their pajamas, and use this as an excuse to stay home the rest of the evening. This can lead to a more sedentary lifestyle, which has been attributed to things like weight gain. When you keep your regular clothes on, you tend to go out more often and that’s a good thing.
3. It can make you feel happier and more free.
Just imagine the feeling of laying in bed naked. You’re free of your pants and underwear. Women, you’re not wearing a constrictive bra. It’s just you sandwiched between two cool sheets. The feeling just makes you want to smile and it makes you feel more free. Everyone can use that kind of good feeling every now and then, and it may even help you be happier as a person.
4. Skin-on-skin contact is the best.
If you’re married, or living with your significant other, sleeping naked gives a greater chance of skin-on-skin contact, especially when it comes to cuddling. This kind of contact can also lead to a more active sex life. All of this releases copious amounts of oxytocin, which is the neurotransmitter that helps you feel those good feelings about your significant other.
5. It could lead to better sleep.
Let’s revisit the scenario I described above. There are no drawstrings or clothes getting tangled in sheets. You don’t have to worry about shirts getting twisted. All of these distractions go away when you sleep naked and it may help you get better, deeper sleep. You don’t need science to tell you that better, deeper sleep only helps you be healthier.
6. It can help your skin.
For once your body gets to breathe. Your private parts, armpits, and feet are generally restricted all day and are often covered by multiple layers, even in the summer time. Give those parts a chance to air out and breathe. This can lower the risk of skin diseases, like athlete’s foot, that result from wet, restricted skin.
7. Helps you regulate your cortisol.
Cortisol is a very strange chemical in the body but it can do a lot of damage. When you sleep naked, it helps keep your body temperature at the optimal ranges so your body can better create cortisol. If you sleep overheated your cortisol levels tend to stay high, even after you wake up. This can lead to increased anxiety, cravings for bad food, weight gain, and more terrible things. Sleep naked so you can keep your body temperature down and sleep well so your body can properly produce and regulate cortisol.
8. Balances your melatonin and growth hormone.
Continuing along that same vein, keeping your sleeping environment below 70 degrees (F) every night can help your body regulate its melatonin and growth hormone levels. These chemicals help the body do things like prevent aging and are essential to good health. When you sleep in clothes, your body heats up and prevents effective use of these hormones. In other words, sleeping with clothes on makes you grow old faster.
9. It can keep your sex organs happier.
For men, the cooler sleeping conditions allows your testes to remain at a cooler temperature. This helps keep your sperm healthy and your reproductive systems functioning as normal. For women, the cooler and more airy sleeping conditions can actually help prevent yeast infections. Yeast grows better in warm, moist conditions. When it’s cooler and dryer, the growth of yeast is prevented.
10. Sleeping in the summer is more bearable.
Summertime is a tricky time to get good sleep. If you don’t have air conditioning, then you may find your bedroom a bit stuffy at night. Shedding those bedtime clothes can help the bedroom feel more comfortable. You may even be able to turn the A/C off on those cooler nights, which can save you a few bucks on your electricity bill. Don’t wake up drenched in sweat again because your thermostat is downstairs and the hot air expands up to your bedroom where the thermostat can’t read the warm temperatures.
With these tips in mind, it’s time to start taking off your clothes at night! Of course, there are times where clothes are preferable. If you are ill or it’s cold outside, then you should sleep with clothes on to help you stay warm and prevent further illness. Otherwise, go commando!
Sanitary pads can be used for many awesome things that you wouldn’t even imagine! Check these tricks out and you’ll be amazed!
These sanitary pads have a strong absorption power and are individually packed in waterproof plastic sheeting. They possess excellent properties and are the perfect tool for a number of different alternative uses.
Best of all is that you can buy them anywhere. Read all the things that you may use sanitary pads for:
1. Sanitary pads can be used to protect and cover wounds
They can be used as a first aid kit. Despite the pad insert a piece bandage or tape for fixing. Sanitary pad can perfectly serve to stop the bleeding – just press and fix the wound with bandages.

Did you know that these sanitary towels can be used to filter the dirty water? Sometimes when you find yourself in a desperate situation and are forced to drink water from an unverified source, you can use these pads.
Here’s what to do: fill a bottle with dirty water and then through the opening part of the bottle fix a piece of the pad; fix it well. Decanted water will be filtered, but not completely; it may still contain microorganisms (bacteria and parasites), so it is best to boil it before consumption.
3. It can be used for growing sprouts
Did you know that hygiene pads can grow some varieties of beans? The pads have a great ability to retain moisture. Well wetted pad should be put in a glass jar on a flat surface.
Then, add the seeds where you want to raise them. You need to place the glass jar near a glass door window to be exposed on the sun, and after a while you’ll see your seed sprouting very fast.
4. Can serve as a cleaning cloth
These small pads also function as indestructible paper towel. They function great as small disposable towels to clean. Better yet, buy the types of pads that contain baking soda.
Here’s what you need to do: if you have a dirty microwave, clean it with a wet pad and turn the microwave on less than a minute. The water vapor will soften any stain.
Then using another dry pad, you will clean any dirt. If necessary – repeat the procedure again. Wet pad with baking soda can be used to clean the microwave from the outside as well.
You can use the sanitary pads for absorbing the melted ice in your refrigerator. Also, you can stick a pad in the refrigerator and leave it overnight – it will actually soak all unpleasant odors!
5. You can use it as pads for shoes for uncontrollable sweating and bad odor
Pads can sometimes replace deodorants. All you have to do is put a pad inside each shoe. This is a great way to get rid of bad smell in people that have their feet sweat profusely.
Also, in hot weather, you can fix small pieces of the pad under the armpits, to prevent large circles of sweat that usually occur on the shirt you wear.
This trick is being used by many celebrities such as Formula 1 driver – Nico Rosberg who is wearing this pad inside the helmet in order to absorb the sweat. 6. It can serve as a pad for your breast while you’re breastfeeding
These extremely useful sanitary towels can be used very effectively when you are breastfeeding. Sometimes there’s an uncontrollable wave of milk into your breast, so in that case, if you do not have specialized breast pads, these sanitary pads can be a great substitution.
Breast pain and tenderness is not always an indications of breast cancer. There are periods in women’s life where their breasts hurt and become lumpy or tender. This can happen anytime during the menstrual period.
Mastalgia is the medical term that describes breast pain. It can be cyclic or noncyclic. Cyclic pain usually means hormonal change, and this is in the frames of a normal, monthly cycle. In addition, breast pain is usually accompanied with armpit or arms pain and it is usually occurs in younger women and disappears upon menopause.
Noncyclic pain usually happens in one breast and it affects women older than 30. It is manifested with burning sensation and sharp pain. Usually, noncyclic pain is caused by a breast fibro adenoma or a breast cyst.
Here are 7 reasons why your breast hurt.
Menstruation-caused hormonal change
Changes in reproductive hormones occur every month during the menstrual cycle. This can cause breast tenderness and pain, as well as soreness. It goes like this: hormone fluctuation leads to estrogen deficiency which then leads to breast pain.
A lump on the breast might sometimes indicate breast cancer, but that’s not always the case. Lumps can be a result of hormonal change and imbalance. Also it might signal fluid-filled cyst presence, but again, not always.
Wrong, uncomfortable bra
Never wear a bra that is super tight or smaller or its cup size is smaller. This can cause discomfort and pain which disappears right after you switch to a normal, proper bra for your breast size.
Contraception, infertility or menopausal medications cause hormonal imbalance and disrupt the estrogen and progesterone production. This leads to unbearable breast tenderness and pain.
Fatty acid imbalance
When your body experiences a fatty acid imbalance, it affects the breast issue and hormone circulation. Fatty acids are found in fish and primrose oil most, so try using them more often if you experience breast pain. When you compensate for the fatty acid you lack, the pain will be relieved immediately.
Don’t be surprised if your breast and armpits hurt like crazy after you’ve done a lot of push-ups. This is due to lack of muscle support during heavy exercises. Nonetheless, this pain will go away as soon as your muscles strengthen and you start exercising regularly.
Needless to say, if you have breast cancer, a cyst, a prior breast surgery, it will cause pain. More precisely, it will cause noncyclic pain.
Read this article and you will discover what your toes have to say:
Look at your big toe. Is it much longer than the others? If it is it means that you are very smart and creative and can always think of creative ways to solve your problems. You can think outside of the box and are full of ideas. On the negative side, it may be difficult for you to remain focused and can often abandon projects midway.
If on the other hand your big toe is actually smaller than the others you are an excellent multi tasker. It’s super easy for you to make people agree with your opinions; you are a great negotiator and complete your tasks efficiently.
The second toe is linked to your leadership qualities. The longer it is the better you are in leading people. It also means that you are energetic and resourceful and always stand up for what you believe in.
You always show initiative and strong desire to do what you think is right, which can be positive and negative at the same time. According to some legends in India, mothers didn’t let their sons marry women who had a longer second toe because they believed that it’s an indicator of a bossy character.
It your second toe is shorter it’s not an indicator that you can’t stand up for yourself, but it means that you are more level-headed and do not rush into things. You always think everything through and wait for your chance to do what you need to do.
The longer your third toe is the more dynamic and resourceful you are at your job. Your main objective is to amount to success in your field of work. According to the Chinese tradition this toe is linked with energy, drive and willpower.
It also means that you are a perfectionist who always has the willpower to climb the ladder higher. On the negative side you are prone to focusing too much on your work and forgetting about the fun part of life.
If your third toe is shorter you are relaxed and enjoy the small pleasures in life. Nothing seems to get on your nerves and you just love chilling out. Some may say that you’re lazy and lacking initiative, but your motto is life is short so enjoy it while it lasts.
If your fourth toe is long and straight your family always comes first in your life. If you’re having problems in your personal life, with your partner, family and love life it will show up in a curling in the fourth toe. Your biggest quality is the ability to listen to other people’s problems and try and resolve them, but your family’s problems can strongly affect your happiness as well.
If your fourth toe is clawed you must try and unwind a bit and not worry too much about everyone else’s problems. The problems in your family can start affecting your health so you need to stop worrying too much.
If your fourth toe is shorter you are not too focused on your family and your love life, your main concern lies somewhere else.
If your little toe is small you are childish and do not cope well with responsibilities. Just like children, you lose focus easily and get bored, constantly searching for new distractions. Even though you are the always the funniest person in the crowd, you have to grow up eventually and start assuming responsibilities in your life.
If you are able to wiggle your toe separately from your fourth toe you are adventurous, charming and impulsive. If you aren’t able to do it, you are loyal, predictable and enjoy routine.
Arches on your feet:
High arches are usually associated with independent and self-centered people. You enjoy spending alone time and some even call you anti-social. You can come off as stubborn at times but you should be ashamed to ask for help when you need it.
On the other hand, if your arches are lower you are very sociable and outgoing and enjoy being in crowds. You also enjoy having fun and always ty to make others feel amused as well.
If your feet are wide it means that you are restless and always on the go. You need to pause from time to time and give yourself a moment to relax and reflect on your decisions. Even though you’re happiest when you’re preoccupied you need to let yourself relax at times.
Narrow Long Feet
If your feet are long and narrow you always make everyone wait for you and pamper you. You enjoy making other people do your hard work and you find it easy to persuade them to do it. You’ve got a strong aesthetic sense and need beauty in your surroundings.
Toes that neatly graduate in size:
If your toes neatly graduate in size it usually means that you’re systematic, practical and accurate. You’re detail-oriented and never leave anything unfinished. Your bosses love you and your friends as well. They know that they can always count on you. Just be careful not to be a nitpicker, not everyone shares your attention to detail.
Resveratrol for the win: Red wine drinkers had better levels of HDL cholesterol, better sleep and lower cardiometabolic risk factors.
Alcohol is the Goldilocks of the nutrition world. Too much can be destructive to your health, raising your blood pressure and your risk of developing several kinds of cancer. Too little may hold you back from some of the benefits that moderate drinkers enjoy, like lower incidence of cardiovascular disease, mortality and type-2 diabetes.
The amount that’s just right, according to a new study published in theAnnals of Internal Medicine, might be a nightly glass of wine with dinner—for some people, anyway.
Researchers from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel wanted to look at how safe and effective it is for a specific group of people—those with well-controlled type-2 diabetes and who had a low risk for alcohol abuse—to drink moderately. People with type-2 diabetes are more likely than the general population to develop cardiovascular disease and have lower levels of heart-protective HDL cholesterol, the authors note.
They chose 224 people who fit this profile, and who didn’t drink wine currently, then assigned them to start drinking one of three things. At dinner, the people in the study were told to drink five ounces of one of the following beverages: mineral water, dry white wine or dry red wine. Under the guidance of dietitians, they also followed a Mediterranean diet without calorie restrictions—and kept it up for two years.
Intermittently, they took questionnaires and were subjected to follow-ups, including blood draws at the start of the study, six months in and at 24 months, so the scientists could look at biomarkers of glycemic control, lipids and liver function.
They found that the red wine drinkers had significantly increased their levels of good HDL cholesterol and had a more beneficial cholesterol ratio compared to the group that drank water. They were also the only group to experience a significant drop in components of metabolic syndrome. People who drank either red or white wine also reported better sleep quality than the group that drank water, and the researchers found no significant adverse effects with any group.
(It’s worth making it explicit that those who drank alcohol, drank just one glass per night, with meals.)
