Wanna know how? Let’s read ahead. Let’s talk science.
Unable to sleep even after trying all the tricks?
Have you tried this putting one foot out of the blanket?
Yes, putting one foot out of the blanket could help you sleep.
Here’s little info about our body: Our body temperature is directly proportional to the alertness.
But, this one is also true. That means if your body is colder, you’ll feel sleepy.
As you might know. Your body get colder right before bed time. That’s why you feel sleepy at night.
This is where feet come-in. To help you cool down. And of course, it is an ideal tool for cooling down your body.
That way, you can dissipate heat from your body easily. And you’ll have a sound sleep.
Isn’t it a helping foot?
Sweat is a nearly whole experience but how many of us really know the know how’s of perspiration?
Sweating can be disturbing particularly if you are at school, college or work. The marks and the remains are pathetic, and they leave you in embarrassment. But it is also useful to your health.
Perspiration keeps the body well circulated and away from overheating. When your body temperature increase much higher than 98.6 degrees F, the hypothalamus- your brain’s thermostat signals the exocrine system’s sweat glands to activate.
Sweat rises to the skin’s exterior through pores and evaporates when it hits the air, keeping you cool. Sweat serves a lot of purposes. It assists as a barometer of effort, an indicator of stress, a measure of health and also a life saver because if sweating hadn’t been there, we would have perished.
Let’s go through the sweaty truths of perspiration.
It’s our body’s natural coolant.
Sweat is purer than most cooling water. What makes it impure is the 1% urea present in it.
Why isn’t it gentle on your nose?
Sweat has no odour. Sweat is sweet but when it meets bacteria, it turn not so gentle on your nose.
There are sweat glands all over your body.
Especially on your feet. There are two kinds of sweat that ooze out of the pores. The light watery sweat is called common sweat while the thick, fat sweat is known as the stress sweat.
If sweat is sweet, how come people smell?
Sweat itself has no smell but when it comes in contact with bacteria on your skin. Bacteria dine on the organic sweat and excrete digestive gas.
Every body has a different odor.
Yes, ask your dog. Natural amounts of bacteria interacting with common sweat contribute to your scent.
Why do feet smell?
Each foot has 250,000 sweat glands, producing a pint of sweat a day.
Can’t stop sweating?
You may have hyperhidrosis. This condition causes us to sweat a ridiculous amount of time.
When sweating is more serious.
Sudden heavy sweating can be a sign of heart attack. It’s also associated with metabolic issues, cancers, menopause or certain disorders.
But don’t worry. No one ever sweat to death.
Sweating can be a consequence of many reasons, be it diabetes, alcoholism or even cancers. But the opposite is not true. When you stop sweating, the body cannot find a sudden way to cool down. Hence, it might be fatal.
Deodorants and Antiperspirants
These products are used to reduce body odor caused by sweat and bacteria. But if you don’t wash
your clothes or wear clean clothes, they aren’t going to help.
Home remedies for reducing sweat:
Apple cider vinegar, baking soda or even potato slices are the best cures for sweat and perspiration. All you’ll need is to drink a concoction of apple cider vinegar half an hour before or after a meal or on an empty stomach. Or you can opt for applying potato slices to your underarms.
Deprivation of sleep is an epidemic which has emerge across the world. Particularly in the 21st century, when technology has taken over our days and gadgets such as mobile phones have become our best friends, we waste more time with Facebook and Snapchat daily than we do with our actual friends. Mobile phones are embedded in our lives so deep that on an average every human being with a mobile device receives a notification every third minute, all across the day.
I have been an entrepreneur for 7 years now, ever since I was still in the first year of my college. Pulling all-nighters is kind of a habit by now. In my life, something or the other breaks down every single day and I am fire-fighting in almost any given moment in life. Sometimes, I can not sleep because there is so much work to do, sometimes due to excessive pressure and too much excitement remains the reason on the rest of the days.
None of this can be an excuse for not sleeping well. There are multiple reasons why you can not be sleep deprived and need to put sleep on your ‘priority task’ list. American Academy for Sleep Medicine says that one in every three adults is suffering from lack of sleep today.
I must be one of them. Are you? Let’s find out.
Within 48 hours, your body is under lack of Oxygen.
As oxygen level reduces in your body, your athletic abilities start to slow down and you tend to feel slower than usual. Within 72 hours, the body starts to feel agitated, concentration hits a new low and you become accident prone in case you are driving.
There is a lot more that happens if you lose sleep on regular basis. I have tried to compile some of them for you here:
Lack of sleep makes you dumb.
Yes, that’s correct. Research conducted by US military says, “Losing one hour of sleep per night for a week will cause a level of cognitive degradation equivalent to a 10 blood alcohol level.”
You start to loose your memory.
Just like the book-keeping exercise in the accounts department of an organization, our brains does its book-keeping as well and it does that when we are asleep. There is a brain event called “sharp wave ripples” which is responsible for consolidating memory.
This brain event occurs during the deepest of sleep and so directly impacts the memory if you are sleep deprived.
It makes you highly unproductive.
You are getting dumb and you are losing memory, don’t tell me you didn’t see this one coming. You gotta get unproductive if the above two are happening for any reason whatsoever, leave apart the sleep.
Reducing your week from 6 days to 5 and your daily working hours and using that time to improve your sleeping habits will result in high productivity, always. Henry Ford proved the same with data.
Depression is waiting for you.
It happens to me. Every single time I find myself working late night for a week or so in a row, my behavior changes. I am usually not-so-positive towards things and my happiness level hits an all time low. I tend to avoid people in office and on calls. Mostly I am people’s guy but during those days, I like to be alone and be quite all the time.
For me, it takes good long sleep and a lot of movies are what help me to come back to normalcy.
$3X – Yes, that is affected as well.
At least now you will start to take this issue seriously. This one is pretty obvious, though. A man/woman who is agitated at all times is not productive at work and is feeling depressed can never perform well during the intercourse as well.
Men with ‘sleep apnea’ have a low level of testosterone and this explains the situation anyways. Don’t you dare ask me how am I doing in bed!
Sleep well if you hate getting fat.
Look at this picture, I said – Look at this picture twice my friend. I know you hate it. Here is what you gotta do – Start sleeping well.
You age faster.
Last but not the least, lack of sleep helps you die faster (pun intended). Remember that dry skin and puffy eyes after your all-nighter at the office? That’s exactly the sign of you aging faster. Cortisol is a hormone that increases stress in the body and lack of sleep increases that a lot. Also, lack of sleep leads to low secretion of Human Growth Hormone.
I know you want to live long and so do I. Now you know, what you need to do.
Life as we know it has changed in the 21st century for all of us. As an entrepreneur, maybe it’s a little tougher than everyone else. When everyone is running the race of doing more, why not try something when we can actually ‘Do more by doing less’.

Every day we are hearing stories about the benefits of drinking water and about the importance of drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day to stay hydrated.
But even though water is the most important drink in the life of every human being, drinking water while eating can hinder the process of digestion.
It is true that the body’s digestion works efficiently only when it has enough fluids, but that does not mean you have to fill the stomach with water while it’s digesting the meal you just ate. If you consume too much water while eating, you can disrupt the natural concentration of stomach acid and bile, which the stomach needs in order to properly digest food. It’s harmful to drink cold water during the meal because it can slow down the process of digestion and it can cause seizures in individuals with sensitive stomach.
These are a couple of helpful tips when it comes to drinking water properly:
When is it best to Drink Water?
Most diets require drinking water before you eat, but the basic rule is to drink water roughly 15 minutes before the meal and one hour after meal. Of course, this is only a tip for the optimal way of drinking water and you shouldn’t take it for granted. It is not obligatory to avoid fluids before, during or after the meal to improve digestion. Nevertheless, these are the best periods to consume water:
After Waking up
If you drink a glass of water when you wake up, the water will help to cleanse the body of toxins.
Before a Meal
If you drink a glass of water 30 minutes before eating lunch, it will help your stomach digest food easily. Don’t drink water too early before lunch or right after the lunch. If you drink water for example an hour after lunch, it will help the body absorb the nutrients.
Before a Bath
Drinking a glass of water before showering will help your body reduce the blood pressure.
If you drink a glass of water before you go to sleep at night, it will help supplement the lost fluids during the night.
Drink Water in Small Sips
As we mentioned earlier, it’s not obligatory to completely exclude water during the meal, but instead you can try to take a few small sips. It will help clear the palate and it will get you enough fluids if you are eating something dry. You can add lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to the water, and that will help the digestion even more.
Drink it Warm (or Hot) rather than Cold
During the meal, cold drinks are not good, especially for those people who have problems with digestion. If you have already chosen to take a few sips during the meal, at least make sure that the water is warm. The best advice is to take a few sips of hot tea while eating (especially thyme, mint or chamomile, which are very good for the stomach).
During the Day
It’s hard to fight the habit of drinking water during meals, but it would be rather helpful for the process if you don’t let yourself get thirsty during the day. A good idea is to start the day with one or two glasses of lukewarm water on an empty stomach. Also, if you drink water between meals, you will have enough fluids in your body and you won’t be thirsty during the meal.
At a certain point in your life, you will experience some pain, ache or you will just feel tired. This is a completely normal condition because we can’t always feel our best. However, you can stimulate your organs to work even better.
One particularly interesting and unconventional method provides immediate relief and you will feel at your best. It includes clothespins and they are placed at different points on the ears.
You might wonder why specifically the ears?
Helen Chin Lui, a reflexologist claims that the ear has a complete reflex map of the body. There are plenty of nerve endings and connectors to the central nervous system.
The ears contain 6 different spots that relate to specific organs and regions in the body. You just have to place a clothespin on the specific area of your choice and see the results.
1. The Upper Part of The Ear
This part of your ear is directly related to your back and shoulders. So, apply some pressure at this point, wait for a minute and the built-up tension will be gone.
2. The Top of The Ear’s Curve
This point is connected to your organs. So, if you feel some discomfort, apply the clothespin at this point and you will experience immediate relief. (Make sure you consult a doctor to find out the root cause of this discomfort).
3. The Upper-Middle Part of the Ear
This point is directly related to the joints. So, if you experience some stiffness of joint pain, apply some pressure at this specific point.
4. The Lower-Middle Part of The Ear
This point is connected to the throat and sinuses. So, a pressure on this point will help in case of a stuffy nose, congestion and will provide a good night’s sleep.
5. Above the Earlobe
This point has to do with digestion, so it will help you get rid of stomach and digestive pain. Also, you can use it in order to prevent such discomfort.
6. The Earlobe
The last but not the least important spot. It is related to the heart and head so by applying some pressure, you will relieve migraines, headaches and will promote heart’s health.
