A jilted 32-year old man, who was dumped by his wife on a wedding day over her suspicion of his having a low sperm count challenge, has married another woman who is now heavily pregnant for him.
PM News reports, Ekene Uzoigwe who got married to Ifunanya Igwebuike, according to Igbo tradition and had wanted to consummate the marriage at St Patrick Catholic Church, Umuchu in Aguata Local government area of Anambra State.
But, things didn’t go as planned as Ifunanya, a graduate of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, did the unthinkable when she snubbed her groom on her wedding day and called off the wedding already arranged by the two families.
The wedding was to take place on Saturday, 3 January, 2015 and guests invited to witness the ceremony were shocked when Ifunaya refused to show up in church to tie the knot with Uzoigwe.
After waiting for several hours, the lady later sent a message to the Parish Priest, Rev. Father Lawrence Maduagwu, that she was no longer interested and asked him to cancel the wedding. She further told the Priest that she could not go ahead with the marriage because she was a graduate unlike Uzoigwe whom she claimed was a school drop-out.
She revealed further that she suspected that her husband-to-be then was impotent because he had been unable to impregnate her after several months of their courtship.
Rev. Maduagwu had no option than to inform the groom and the guests that were already seated at the church hall that the wedding had been cancelled. This caused an uproar in the church with guests expressing shock over what happened.
After the sad event, Uzoigwe moved on and married another wife who is now pregnant and will be delivered. Ifunanya, she said had forgotten the whole thing and moved on with her life. She also said her family has refunded to Uzoigwe everything he spent.
Uzoigwe who recounted how he was dumped on his wedding day said he met Ifunanya at their home town, Umuchu, where he proposed to her marriage and she agreed on condition that he would send her to school, which he agreed.
He said after she gained admission, he was financing her education and they agreed to wed during her final year.
He said he had paid her bride price and she was part of the whole wedding plan and he even gave her parents N160,000 to prepare for the wedding, besides other arrangements and expenses incurred on the wedding and reception.
The jilted man said Ifunaya did not considered it worthy to inform him about her decision to back out of the wedding until he got to the church and the priest had to inform him and their guests about the cancellation of the wedding.
“If she had informed me, I would not have made arrangements. We had already cooked food and bought drinks for the wedding,” he said.
Uzoigwe said when he contacted her parents about the whole incident, they only told him that they could not forced her to go against her wishes but only asked him to come and take back the money he gave them to prepare for the wedding.
Uzoigwe said he was still in shock about that incident because he did not have any quarrel with Ifunanya before the fateful day.
He said he also made sure she was comfortable by making money available to her while in school.
Uzoigwe is a business man based in Abakiliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
The restaurant was said to have offered free food to its loyal customers recently. But the owner confessed on December 29, saying she uses juju and water gotten from corpse to prepare her delicacies which she sells to the public.
Five people have been shot dead by a gunman at Fort Lauderdale airport in Florida, say officials.
It happened at the baggage claim area in Terminal 2, just before 1300 local time (1800 GMT), the airport confirmed. Five people were killed, 13 injured and one person was in custody, said police and local officials.
Hundreds of people were standing on the tarmac outside the terminal as dozens of police cars and ambulances rushed to the scene.
One of the first reports of the incident came from former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, who said in a tweet: “I’m at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport. Shots have been fired. Everyone is running.”
A witness told MSNBC that the gunman was a “slender man’ who was wearing a Star Wars T-shirt. The gunman, who appeared to be in his 20s, did not speak and was shot by police as he attempted to reload, John Schlicher said.
Florida Senator Bill Nelson told US media that the gunman has been identified as Esteban Santiago, but that has not been confirmed by law enforcement.
A witness told NBC News the gunman was shot by police less than a minute after the shooting began.
“He was gunned down by police,” Mark Lea from Minneapolis told the network. “It was absolutely surreal.”
“People were scared and frantically running to avoid being shot. People were tripping over each other. They were trying to make a fast exit out of the door.”
Florida Governor Rick Scott is travelling to the airport to be briefed by police. President-elect Donald Trump tweeted that he is “monitoring the terrible situation in Florida” and that he has spoken to the Florida governor.
“Thoughts and prayers for all. Stay safe!” he added.

A 35-year-old physically challenged housewife (name withheld) in Edjeba Street, Warri metropolis, Delta State, yesterday morning allegedly killed herself after she got information that her six-year-old daughter was r*ped.
According to information gathered, the woman killed herself by drinking an insecticide poison in a container popularly called Ango 90 after chasing away her daughter’s defiler from her room.
The rapists had earlier burgled her provision store where they committed the act. Sources said her husband may have also contributed to her death as he often brought home his girlfriends who usually ridiculed her for her predicament.
Unconfirmed sources said the woman had also allegedly caught her husband in bed with her teenage daughter from a previous marriage.
The Divisional Police Officer, Daudu Police Station, Warri, Mr. Chris Akpe, confirmed that the police found the woman’s body lying on the ground in her room with a container believed to be insecticide Ango 90.
Phones usually slip out of our hands or pockets dropping on the ground, wet floor or even in a bowl of water from time to time or you could decide to jump in the pool forgetting that your mobile phone is still in your pocket.
There is still hope that the phone is not totally damaged. Try out these tips immediately you remove the phone from water, it wouldn’t cost you a dime.
Check out the well tested steps to salvage such accidents below:
1. Do not turn back on your phone right away (keep it off until you know it’s totally dry or if phone is still on immediately take off the battery).
2. Remove all peripherals from the device (back cover, case, battery, headphones and any other removable gadget).
3. Use a vacuum to drain moisture from the device (Try to get as much of the water out of it as possible).
4. Use a substance with a high affinity for drawing out moisture (An inexpensive option is to place the phone in a bowl or bag of uncooked rice or desiccant “usually found with new shoes” for at least 24hrs or just cover the phone in towels).
If the above steps fail, kindly refer to a professional phone repair with a history of success around you.
