A 22-year-old armed robbery suspect, Ahmed Akinade, has confessed that the irresistible spoils of robbery operations compared to what he previously made as a smuggler made him to join the underworld.
In a confessional statement, he made shortly after he was arrested by the officer in charge of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Lagos State Police Command, Mr. Paiko Umar, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Ahmed said, “I don’t live with my parents. I live in Agbara while my mother lives in Sango- Ota, Ogun State. My work was smuggling of rice and other things that could give us money. We call it ‘fayawo.’ I used to go home with N1,500 to N2,000 daily but when I joined a robbery gang, I started going home with over N5,000 to N10,000 after each operation.
‘’We used to go from house to house and there is no type of phone we have not stolen in many of our operations. Since I started robbery work I have never bought any phone with my money. I have robbed more than 10 times and we are a three-man gang namely myself, Taiye and Abbe who is at now large.
The second suspect, Taiwo Adebisi,19, an indigene of Ondo State, said, “I am a bricklayer and I stay at Morogbo with my parents. I was arrested on Tuesday at Morogbo. I did not know that Ahmed is an armed robber until he lured me into it due to hunger and poverty. I followed him to see whether I will get food to eat. This is my first time. We were three but the third member Abbe ran away. I wish to make it clear that I was not a criminal until I met Ahmed who lured me into crime. With this New Testament Bible, I swear if I am released, I will not follow Ahmed to rob again. Tell police to give me a chance to live a new life.’’
According to the police, on December 13, 2016, at about 6: 30 a.m. one Holy Atasowie of 3 Olaiya Street, Agbara Bus Stop, Morogbo, Lagos, was walking along Morogbo Road going to work and he saw people running for their life and as he wanted to know what was happening he was surrounded by three men armed with cutlass who ordered him to surrender all he had on him.
They robbed him of his wallet containing N10,000, driver’s license, Diamond Bank ATM card, two company identity card and one Techno phone valued at N11,000, among others.
The victim’s cry attracted passersby who gave the robbers a hot chase and apprehended one of them identified as Ahmed Akinade. When Ahmed was brought to the police station, the victim who was at the station to lodge complaint identified him as one of the men that robbed him.
His arrest led to the arrest of Taiwo who confessed that there was the third person at large called Abbey
“I have resisted the devaluation of the naira, increase of the petroleum products, among others,” he told the soldiers and officers.
“When I was military head of state, I rejected similar advice by the IMF and World Bank to devalue the naira. I refused and gave my reasons and the next thing I knew I was removed and detained for three and half years.
“As a civilian president, I will do my best and I’m telling you all these because you are part of the leadership of this great country and God willing we will remain great.”
President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly sacked Ibrahim Magu, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
According to GUARDIAN Newspaper, Magu was redeployed back to Nigerian Police Force (NPF) “to pave way for a fresh person to be presented by President Muhammadu Buhari as the nominee to head the anti-graft agency before the Senate.”
Also, Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has already issued a leter to Magu on the development and directed that he hands over to the Director of Operations in the Commission.
It was revealed yesterday that the 47 Sports Utility Vehicles and 100 motorcycles the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recently recovered from a former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Power were bought for former President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign in the 2015 general election.
The sum of N1.5 billion with which the vehicles were acquired was allegedly sourced from the diverted N27 billion insurance premium of deceased workers of Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) according to The Nation.
All the vehicles were said to have been paid for by the former Permanent Secretary, Dr. Godknows Igali, to aid the campaign efforts of the Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation in the build-up to the presidential election.
The EFCC was said to have intercepted the vehicles and motorcycles after an alarm was raised by an artisan. An EFCC source said yesterday that there was “overwhelming evidence” against the former Perm Sec.
Another source, who spoke in confidence, said the 47 vehicles were seized from some secret locations where Igali had kept them. More than 100 motorcycles parked at a facility in Mabushi Area of Abuja were also confiscated by the EFCC.
The confiscated items include SUVs, Toyota Coaster buses, Toyota Hilux trucks and 16-seater buses. The source said: “Igali had allegedly secured the hefty heist in well-guarded premises in an upscale neighbourhood of Abuja.
“But luck ran out on him when an artisan called to fix a faulty utility vehicle became curious over the avalanche of the state of the art vehicles parked in the premises and tipped off the EFCC.
“The commission immediately commenced discreet investigation.
“In the course of investigation, it discovered that all the vehicles were supplied by Dilly Motors at the instance of Igali.”
The source claimed that about N1.5 billion paid for the vehicles was allegedly sourced from the diverted N27 billion insurance premium of deceased workers of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).
The cash was allegedly laundered by Igali through Baseworth Insurance Brokers in order to cover his track.
The source added: “It was initially difficult to determine the source of the funds with which the vehicles were purchased as it did not come directly from Igali’s account.
“But a breakthrough came as the EFCC stumbled on evidence of a curious payment to Dilly Motors from the account of Baseworth Insurance Brokers Limited, a company that was under investigation in another case of alleged diversion of N27 billion insurance premium of deceased staff of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria.
“In one of the transfers, N300 million was paid to Dilly Moors from the account of Baseworth Insurance Brokers.
“Operatives of the Commission were curious to determine the service which Dilly Motors rendered to Baseworth Insurance Brokers to warrant payment.
“Dilly Motors, on interrogation, allegedly admitted that the N300 million was part of the N1.5 billion paid by Igali for the purchase of vehicles for the Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation to prosecute the 2015 general election.
“Igali was earlier this year arrested by the Commission and made a statement after which he was released on administrative bail.”
At press time, it was learnt that the EFCC was finalising plans to arraign Igali in court.
A top EFCC source said: “We have substantial evidence against Igali. He is going to face trial any moment from now.
“In profiling Igali, our detectives discovered that he is a kinsman of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and he assisted the Gooodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation with vehicles by diverting public funds for such illegality.
“Actually, Igali had made useful statement and our detectives have spent the last five to six months to conduct diligent investigation.
“There is a prima facie case against him. It is left for the ex-Permanent Secretary to prove his innocence in court.”
“Today PDP has only 12 governors as against the 28 we had. Regrettably, of the 12, only four of them want to control and destroy the party. These are people who are not fit to be local government council chairmen— I will continue to resist such,” he added.
Sheriff, who argued that the party’s constitution does not make any provision for caretaker position, lambasted Prof. Jerry Gana, for appearing on television a few days ago to say that 90 percent of the people are with the former Governor Ahmed Makarfi-led faction.
“Jerry Gana of all people talking on television when he does not even have a party card, he has never won an election and cannot even win election in his ward. You don’t sit down in Abuja to determine the fate of the people at the grassroots who are the owner of the party. This party must be given to the owners which is the grassroots,” he added.
The PDP has been at the centre of a leadership crisis since May when attempts to remove Sheriff as chairman failed. Sheriff accused the four PDP governors of working behind the scene to remove him.
An enormous water python has devoured a metre-long fresh water crocodile following an epic duel that shocked onlookers at Lake Moondarra, near Mount Isa, on Sunday.
In the footage, the snake could be seen constricting its prey and slowly stretching its mouth over the crocodile’s scaly body during the course of five hours. The reptile death match captured the attention of people at Lake Moondarra, near Mount Isa in the state of Queensland, over the weekend.
“You could see the crocodile in the snake’s belly which I think was probably the more remarkable thing,” local resident Tiffany Corlis told Australia’s ABC News. “You could actually see its legs and see its scales and everything, it was just amazing.”
Though the stomach-turning meal may look incredible, some animal experts say the incident isn’t all that uncommon.
“The big eat the smaller,” Lindsey Hord, a biologist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), wrote in an email to Live Science, noting that big snakes regularly eat crocodile relatives known as caiman in South America.
The combatants in this case are thought to be an olive python and a freshwater Johnston’s crocodile, both native to northern Australia. Terry Phillip, of South Dakota’s Reptile Gardens, told National Geographic that olive snakes are “known for being phenomenally powerful, pound for pound, and for feeding on large food items.”

Many people dream of having six-pack abs, and they want to have it real quick. I have even seen people in my own gym who focus a lot of their time in abs workout, but still struggle to have six-pack abdominals. Yes, they do have a nice abs, but not just six-pack abs, and without it, it’s always incomplete.
Now, you would like to know whether it’s possible to have a six-pack in three months or not. My answer to this question is, “Yes, it is possible to have it in 3 months.” I am not bluffing, but I am providing you with this answer after conducting a research. I have researched a lot from various sources, and I have also read the testimony of Scott Wright, Actor and fitness expert on how he was able to get six-pack in 2 months, so you can be assured of the authenticity of the information.
The Secret of Having Six-pack abs in 3 months
It’s about time that I reveal the secret. You will have six-pack abs, but you should also maintain your body because if you become careless after getting six-pack abs, you are bound to lose it. I am going to categorize my methods into two categories, and they are: Body Fats and Workouts, and Diet.
1. Body Fats and Workouts
Let’s talk about body fats and workouts for abs without wasting much time.
a. Focus on your body’s fat percentage
If you want to have a six-pack, then you must reduce your body fats. In general, the optimum body fat percentage for a man is 13%, and it is 17% for a woman. Among the various ways to know your body fats, the most convenient way to measure your body fat is by using your gym’s body analyzer equipment. Suppose your body weight is 80 kg with fat percentage of 20%, and you want to reduce it to 13%. The process of calculating the weight you need to lose is by using this formula: Fat % to lose (0.07) X body weight (80) = 5.6 kg.
b. Cardio workout
It’s a necessity to focus on a cardio workout if you want to lose your fats. You should focus on high intensity workouts like running, cycling workouts, swimming, and aerobics to lose your fats in a quicker pace. However, you should also take a rest, so have a one day gap in a week.
c. Make a workout plan
Actions without plans do not lead you to success. In order to see a result from your workouts, it’s necessary to make a good plan. It is really crucial to make a workout schedule for each part of your abdominals. A single day for lower abs, upper abs, oblique, and total abdominal muscles would be a nice workout plan.
d. Abs-specific workout
After developing a workout schedule, focus on abs-specific workouts. You should perform these workouts for at least five days a week with around 4-5 sets, and perform as many reps as you can. You should also take 20-30 seconds rest between each set.
Stability ball crunch for upper abs, Stability ball pikes for lower abs, seated medicine ball trunks rotation for oblique, and workouts with planks for entire abdominal muscles. These are the exercises, and do search for the right procedure to perform it.
2. Modify Your Diet
Another critical part to consider for having six-pack abs is your diet. You simply cannot imagine of having six-pack without changing your diet, so you must implement these tips:
a. Stay away from processed meals
First step is to stay away from processed meals. Scientists have even found in their research that highly processed meals results in increased body fats. So, stay away from processed meals like potato chips, burgers, and others.
b. Eat Fresh Meals
Fresh and balanced meals don’t only have a positive impact on your process of getting six-pack, but it also has a positive impact on your overall health. It is an important task for you to develop a healthy diet that includes fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins.
c. Drink Plenty of Water
Finally, after focusing a lot on your workouts and diet, it is equally important to stay hydrated by drinking water. Water helps in flushing your body and at the same time it improves your metabolism. You should at least drink 60 ounces of water if your body weight is 120 pounds, i.e. half of the body weight in ounces of water.
