Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, would have been among the congregation at the collapsed Reigners Bible Church, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, leading to the death of over 200 people and many others injured.
The actress has opened up on how she escaped the callapse of the Reigners Bible Church building in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state on Saturday.
Reacting to the development, Ini Edo said she could have been among the victims, but was held in traffic from Calabar to Uyo for 7 hours, on her way to the church.
The actress on her social media accounts: “2 days ago, I was very bitter about the unreliable nature of some of our airlines cancelling flights without prior notice thereby hindering my plans to attend a church service ceremony held in uyo. Now out of determination, I took a flight to calabar with the hope of being in uyo just in time for the service since the journey between calabar and uyo was just about an hour.
“The journey ended up taking over 7hrs because of an unexplainable traffic. No accident, good road no hitches just a headlock traffic. Whilst in the car, I started wondering why all my efforts to be at the service was being thwarted… then I got a call, that the entire church building had collapsed during the course of the service …. Once again, God had saved me.
“My heart goes out to the families of the departed..may the good Lord grant them the heart to bear the loss.
“Everyday we see is a blessing..it’s not because we are special or better..It’s the exceeding Grace of our Lord Jesus.Iam so humbled and grateful to God for preserving me… Happy thanksgiving…” She wrote.
The MMM Founder has allegedly written an open letter to the Federal Government of Nigeria explaining the benefits of the scheme.
The letter was displayed on the page of all participants of the Scheme.
Recall the the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had warned Nigerians against participating in the scheme which it described as a “Ponzi”.
The House of Representatives in October also ordered an investigation into the operation of the scheme.
According to the letter, Mr Mavrodi implored the government to look at the benefits of the scheme rather than be against it without knowing how it was helping Nigerians.
Read below the full script of the letter:
Open Letter from Sergey Mavrodi to the Nigerian Authorities
So far MMM has come under a constant attack from you. In this regard, I would like to ask you a few simple questions. Since you are concerned with the interests of millions of your fellow citizens, I hope that you would be so kind to answer them.
- What are you trying to get? Do you want the MMM System to collapse and millions of people to suffer? Who will support them then if now MMM is their only means of livelihood? Will you? You even don’t pay wages to people? Or might you not care about them? Might you be using a trendy topic to make a good name for yourselves? What will you say to a mother who will have no money to buy food for her child? Will you let her child die for the sake of the higher interests of the economy?
- You say that MMM is a scam. What is the scam here, if all members are warned in advance about all the risks, the possible and impossible ones? They know there are no investments at all. The warning is a red text on a yellow background placed on most prominent place of the website.
- You say that MMM is bad. Why? Yes, it produces nothing, but nothing gets out of the country either. The money is just redistributed among the citizens of Nigeria. It gets from those who are richer to poorer ones, in this way restoring social justice. What”s wrong with that?
- You have repeatedly stated that “it should be investigated!.. researched!..” It means you know nothing about this System yet; you even haven’t understood how it works………
- And finally. If you know what is right for people, why is the life so bad in the country?
P.S. As for your statement that “everything will collapse soon”. The system has been working in Nigeria for a year, and according to your estimates, the total number of members now is about 3 million people. In Nigeria the population is approximately 195 million. Can you calculate? Will it be “soon”? :-))
A 12-year-old boy was found mysterious in the middle of built blocks in Ondo state yesterday.
The owner of a brick house where a young boy was rescued alive in Ondo state recently has been declared wanted by the officials of Ondo State Police Command.
The innocent boy who is said to be 12 years old was declared missing by his parents several years back.
He was rescued at a house located on Oduduwa street in Ijapo area of Akure few days ago.
When his parents were contacted, they claimed some spiritualists told them he has been used as sacrifice and that they should stop looking for him but as fate will have it, those who heard the sound of the boy as he was singing broke the wall and rescued him alive.
People are still wondering as to how the boy made it to the foundation of the building that is over 20 years old and how he managed to survive.
An Eyewitnesse at the scene who identified himself as a priest said the boy was called into the place from a spiritual altar and that he has been there for more than 5 years and that they fed him with human flesh and blood from the spiritual realm.
He urged the parents of the boy to take him to a powerful native doctor for redemption ritual because he is now a demon in human form.See more photo below;

Well, as we all know, not all that glitters is Gold, here is a testimony of a unilag student named David, surname withheld at an MFM church.
David is a 400L student of unilag and has been attending MFM youth church since he gained admission in 2011. He was a very active church member until sometimes in November 2014, it was getting close to the exam period at unilag and David decided to study at his favorite destination in campus which is the Lagoon front.
While reading in front of the peaceful water, he meet a very beautiful dark Lady crying, he felt sorry for her and decided to walk up to her. He later asked her why she was crying and she told him all that happened that her boyfriend dumped her. David as a Christian gave her some words of encouragement, preached to her and consoled her. They became friends, more interesting, he has fallen in love for the first time in his life. Unluckily for him a mammy water.
After their exams they became much closer and by february 14 2015. They became lovers. As the relationship grew the young Lady began to demand for se.x but David was reluctant until one day he decided to forgo his church program to go out with the young Lady. He was drunk that night and had s.ex with the lady, you know what it means to sleep with a yemoja, David life changed, he started having se.x with her more frequently, he never went to church, he started smoking, his friends started to notice his change and started advising him but he wouldnt listen.
Until July 2015. David fell ill. He went from one Hospital to another but they couldnt diagnose the cause of his illness. Until he started seeing the girl in his dreams he then went to the church for Prayers. The pastor Later told him to confess his deeds which he later did. He later realised she was from the marine world and had ruined his destiny. After seven days of Prayers he finally became delivered. I’m wondering what could have happened to the girl as David shared his Testimony on sunday. This story of David is lesson to us, Pray while choosing your girlfriend before she ruins you.
Some ladies in Lagos said they prefer buying fairly used pants and brassieres because they were durable and could get good bargain from market.
They disclosed in separate interviews on Friday in Lagos that their preference for fairly used pants and bras was due to the fact that such products were genuine and last longer than new ones.
Mrs Ann Adedeji, who was at Ikotun Central Market in Lagos, said that apart from durability, most of the fairly used pants and bras had trendy designs and were colourful.
She said, “I get more colourful bras and pants that are most times not available in boutiques and at the same time I get value for my money as they are durable.
“You can only get unique bra designs here because the Ikotun Central Market is the main place for fairly used underwears.”
Mrs Victoria Adejo, who was also at the market, said that it was after she suffered an embarrassing experience with a new bra that she decided to make do with fairly used ones.
She said the hook of the bra she was wearing came-off while she was in a meeting in the office and was left in uncomfortable position all through the meeting.
“Since that incident, I stopped buying panties and bras from boutiques,’’ she said.
Mrs Oluchi Onwuka, who sells used panties in Ikotun Market, said she never regretted venturing into the business.
She said, “it is a profitable business and I am growing in it.
“I have boutique owners who come to buy in bulk; they wash and package them and resell at exorbitant rates and I am aware.”
Miss Damilola Madu, who also deals in fairly used panties and bras, also says the underwears are durable and cheaper than new ones.
Madu added that used bras held the breast firmly and the elasticity was retained for a very long time, unlike new ones.
“Used undies are cheaper and last longer than new ones; that is the reason people come for it,” she said.
Meanwhile, Dr Ayoola Adeyemi, a dermatologist, warned against the use of fairly used bras and pants, saying it could cause bacterial infections.
The doctor noted that since the health status of the initial user could not be verified, it would be advisable for individuals to desist from such acts.
She added that “some bacterial infections could occur when we use fairly used panties because the health history of the initial user was not known.
“Skin rashes, eczema, syphilis and other bacterial infections may occur,” she said.
